CCW Class Check In Procedures
Arrival times
Monday - Saturday arrive at 0830 AM. (The store opens at 9am.)
Come into the Bass Pro Shop through the store entrance (parking lot entrance). Do not go through the mall.
Tell the Bass Pro Shop greeter that you are in Jerry’s CCW class. The Bass Pro employee will let you in the store before it opens
Students are required to wait for me in the fireplace area. Do not go through the turnstiles into the store area.
Regarding Sunday Classes
The class starts at 10am. Please arrive at 9:30 AM to get your handgun checked in.
The store opens at 10am. Bass Pro will allow me to start the class at 9am as long as the students are escorted to the classroom under my supervision.
Handgun transportation Rules and Bass Pro Check in procedure.
Handguns must be transported gun box or other suitable container and placed in a inaccessible "location" or "condition" in the vehicle.
Ammunition cannot be transported in the gun box and the handgun must be unloaded.
Ammunition can be carried in any other stable container.
Note: Paper bags or holsters are not gun containers.
The handgun or container must be able to be locked. Trigger lock the handgun or lock the case.
Handgun containers are--
The typical gun box
Soft pack gun container
Brief case
Vehicle
Vehicles without a trunk ( SUV - Van- Pickup - Motorcycle)
Place the locked and unloaded handgun in a inaccessible place (to the driver) if possible.
If the vehicle has a separate trunk. Transport the handgun in the trunk.
Bass Pro Shop Requirements
Follow the transportation rules
Handgun in a container
Lock handgun or container
No ammunition in handgun or container
Ammunition in a separate container
Give the gun (in the container) to the greeter. The greeter will check to make sure the gun is empty and put a trigger lock on the gun.
The greeter will then give the gun back to you in the container.
If you have a CPL please show this to the greeter, the container and gun will be checked in but not locked.
Wait for me at the greeter area (by the fireplace). I will be out to get you at about 8:50-9:00
Warning - enforcement action
Law enforcement action--
Not transporting a handgun under Michigan laws can result in a felony arrest and severe penalties.
Bass Pro Shop---
Not following Bass pro procedures can result in being refused access to the store with your handgun
Carrying a concealed pistol without a concealed pistol permit is a felony in the sate of Michigan.
